Operation Impact Raises the Roof for 3 Veterans from Estero CC

eccAs Estero County Club at the Vines celebrates its 30 year anniversary, we are reflecting on how thankful we are for such a supportive community. What better way to start the holiday season than with a successful community event that touched the lives of several local veterans.

On October 25, Estero Country Club partnered with Affordable Homeownership Foundation for Operation Impact: Raise the Roof. Not only was the event an incredible success, but it helped raise funds to replace leaking roofs for three local Lee County veterans.

The event started with some words from the first Mayor of The Village of Estero, Nick Batos, and was followed by the Twenty three Guns and Hoses bagpipers and a drum corps and the presentation of the flag by the JROTC from Estero High School. After the opening ceremony, the games began! The day was a whirlwind of fun for a good cause! Activities included a golf scramble, silent auction and dinner!

With your help, we were able to raise $68,500 in in-kind and monetary donations, and over $29,000 the day of the event. This money went above and beyond our expectations! Thanks to your generosity, not only did three local Lee County veterans get new roofs, but the money remaining is going to roof repairs for other local veterans with housing needs. A very special thanks to the Affordable Housing Foundation for partnering with us and creating an event to remember!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, everyone at Estero Country Club and the Affordable Homeownership Foundation would like to thank the participants, the community, and everyone who supported this generous event. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. The tournament could not have been done without the support of our very own ECC members. Thank you for your continuous support.

Together we were able to provide three, much-needed for three local veterans. Operation Impact: Raise the Roof will return next year so make sure to mark your calendars for October 23, 2016.

Estero Country Club feels so blessed to have such a caring and compassionate community in sunny southwest Florida. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us build a fun, helpful, and bustling community.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
