Golf is an excellent workout for your heart and lung and is at low-risk for injuries. When you’re out on the course try to skip the cart and walk as much as you can. Low-intensity subaerobic exercise can burn calories and get your blood pumping. According to research, playing a nine-hole course, golfers can burn up to 721 calories by walking and carrying their bag. Play twice a week and you can burn a whopping 1,442 calories.

Estero Country Club offers a variety of tennis programs and events to keep you active! Our courts are always open for friendly competition or a simple one-on-one with a friend. Tennis is a full-body exercise that is just as tough on your mind and spirit—but in a good way. According to Dr. Joan Finn and colleagues at Southern Connecticut State University, Tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem while scoring lower in depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than other athletes and non-athletes.
Tennis is a brain game just like golf, stimulating new connections between nerves that may assist with continuing brain development. When was the last time you gave your brain a good workout?
