goodbye decemberCan you believe it is already the middle of December?! 2016 has absolutely flown by and to be honest, we’re finding it a little difficult to say goodbye. Here at Estero Country Club we have had an absolutely incredible year. From a prosperous January, to celebrating our 30th anniversary, from a year that took golfing at ECC to the next level; we’ve truly seen it all.

30 years ago, Estero Country Club began in the heart of a growing area. Over the years we have swelled, shifted, and become the active, happy community that you know today. This year, we remembered our roots, hosting events, activities, and parties to celebrate our anniversary and everything it stands for.

Estero Country Club is proud to be part of this community. We would not be where we are without our loyal members, our strong staff, and the countless men and women, businesses, organizations, and fundraisers that choose ECC as their venue for everything from private parties, weddings, to a fun day out on the course.

We want to celebrate the end of the year with you! Join us as we take a look back at a successful year and fun future!

Happy and Healthy in SWFL

The year started off great for southwest Florida! In February, NBC News named Naples, Florida, our southern neighbors, the happiest and healthiest city in the United States! Out of fifty states, thousands of cities and their health initiatives, Naples was where researchers found the most smiling faces and healthiest people.

Naples is a high well-being place, Dan Witters, Research Director of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, told TODAY. People in Naples really like their communities.

The top five communities included:

  • Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island, Florida
  • Salinas, California
  • North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida
  • Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Barnstable Town, Massachusetts

Junior Golfers at Estero Country Club

Over the summer, golf was in high demand! Estero Country Club’s Assistant Golf Professional, Tom Donovan didn’t get enough golf at ECC, so he offered his expertise to the Boys Golf Team at the Community School of Naples. The boy’s team had a successful year, finishing second at Regional’s and advancing to the State Finals. There were strong teams, but the team played their best and advanced the Community School of Naples to the state tournament for the first time in three years!

Community School of Naples wasn’t the only local team that made headlines! The Estero High School Girls Golf team dominated the Districts and played a nail biting game at Regionals. After finishing second at the Districts, the team moved on to Regionals. While the team did not advance to the State Finals, Kim Egozi moved on to State as an individual. They participated in a state wide tournament in Sebring in September, finishing third, and completed their dual-meet season 11-1. To top it all off, the girl’s snagged the winning title as the Conference Championship.

Junior Golf has risen exponentially in recent years, encouraging the youth of southwest Florida to get out there and play!

It’s Not Over Yet!

Don’t think we’ve already shut the door on 2016! Estero Country Club still has a lot planned before 2017 greets us. We will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party that you will never forget! Join us for a night of food, fun, and festivities to welcome 2017 in style!

Thank you to everyone who’s helped us on our path to success. Our members are the vital veins of our community. Thank you for supporting us, staying loyal, and for always being there with a helping hand.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
